Mark McDonald, Owner & Chef
Mark McDonald has worked in the food service industry ever since he was 16 years old in Pittsburgh, PA. Mark’s formal training was at the Culinary Institute of America in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mark did his externship at the Fountainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, FL. After graduating in 1984 Mark moved to Tampa and worked as a chef at the Guest Quarters Hotel for two years. Subsequently Mark worked at Publix in the Bakery for 7 years. He also worked with several catering companies in Tampa, including Joan’s Catering and Mise en Place. Mark always knew he would start his own business one day. Then, in 2001 Mark leased the location in Northdale and created a menu of his favorite foods from his past experiences. Brianna’s Fine Foods opened in March 2002 and has been going strong ever since with word-of-mouth being the best advertising.

Jackie McDonald, Managing Assitant
Jackie McDonald, Mark’s wife, has Brianna’s Fine Foods to thank for her venture into the food service industry. With Mark's excellent direction, Jackie hit the ground running nine years ago. She works side-by-side with Mark to create the many menu items as well as specialty baked goods, party trays, platters and catering events. Jackie also assists with handling all aspects of the business from customer-relations to computer work creating the menus, signs and keeping the website updated.

We ordered chicken piccata for our 18th anniversary, and because my husband has high blood pressure, I asked for it to be prepared low-salt. Well, let me tell you, had I not known the meal was low-salt, I would never have guessed--everything was so tasty! ... Not only was your meal a hit with my husband and me, our three children loved the chicken and veggies and especially your roasted potatoes. Also your portions were very generous, and I'm glad Jackie warned me, because I ordered three full servings, and there was plenty there for a family of five! The chicken piccata itself was tender and sauced perfectly. The veggies were colorful and flavorful, even without salt. The roasted potatoes were amazing, and the parsley gave them a nice flavor; it was no surprise that they went first. The big surprise was the salad. I opened the top expecting the average colorless iceberg lettuce found in most restaurants. Your ears must have been burning Sunday afternoon; we told our guests all about your restaurant, and what a pleasure it was to work with you. The chicken salad was packed with all white meat and lived up to its reputation as "the best in town". The mini crab cakes were the perfect size and tasted just right. My husband is a huge crab cake fan, and he loved them. Even the cocktail sauce was delicious. The shrimp "lollipops" had just enough kick and were presented in a fun way, and the marinated grilled vegetables exceeded our expectations! The fruit skewers were a big hit, particularly among the children, as expected. The fruit was fresh and ripe and the presentation was perfect! The egg salad was very fresh, although it was a little less salty than I like it. Our children enjoyed it though. The platters were plentiful, with just the right amount of leftovers, but not too much. ... The lamb cookies were a HUGE hit among the children there, as expected! Nothing beats a great, iced sugar cookie, especially when it is in a fun shape. And the cake was perfect! It was beautifully decorated, with delicious butter cream icing. It was light and airy, with just the right amount of sugar. The chocolate cake inside was perfectly moist, but not overly sweet, which I really enjoyed. One guest commented that it was so good because it had the perfect "cake-to-icing-ratio" which I wholeheartedly agreed with!! We will surely become one of your cake loyalists.
